Expats
At our school we welcome children of expats. In fact 8% of our student population consists of expats! It is important to note that all classes are given in Dutch which means that particulary as of 3rd grade (6 years old) children will have to be able to speak Dutch. In kindergarten (4-6 years old) we prefer children to speak Dutch but we’ve had good experiences with non-Dutch speakers who were able to master the language quickly which enabled them to advance to 3rd grade.
For Dutch children who have lived abroad and who have experienced setbacks in spelling, grammar and vocabulary we offer personalized support to get them to the right level.
School
At Bloemendaalse Schoolvereniging, we offer modern, thematic education surrounded by nature. Children learn in small groups with personal attention, in a safe and inspiring environment.
After-School Care (BSO)
Our BSO program offers care before and after school, as well as during holidays. In collaboration with Les Petits, we provide a warm and welcoming space where children can play, relax and explore.
Preschool
Our preschool De Kleine Daaltjes welcomes children aged 2 to 4 within our school building. It offers a gentle and playful introduction to school life, making the transition to primary school smooth and familiar.
What do other expats say?
It is important to note, that while the application process is open to all families, all classes, special projects, student progress report cards and written communication with parents and pupils are in Dutch.
The funding we receive from the national government and the local government is not sufficient to realize the objectives of the Bloemendaalse Schoolvereniging. This is why we ask a voluntary contribution of parents. The contribution of €690 p/y will mainly be spent on the deployment of extra teachers and specialist teachers for creative subjects, IT-classes and physical education.
